The Old Soul Flower Company is a studio florist located in West Seattle specializing in garden-style arrangements created from locally and domestically grown flowers. We source our floral ingredients from the best flower growers in Washington, Oregon, California, and Hawai'i and pride ourselves in using unique and high-quality blooms often grown sustainably and Salmon-Safe.

Sustainability

We model our business after a circular economy, where our ecological footprint and contributions is returned back into the system, minimizing waste and pollution. The high-quality vases and vessels we arrange with are second-hand or donated from previous customers. We compost often and save every rubberband and twist-tie, plastic wrap and cellophane, that has come into our studio to reuse again.  We vow to never use floral foam, as it is a single-use plastic contributing to the micoplastic pandemic. Not to mention, it sucks.

Of course, The Old Soul is not perfect, and we are currently striving to afford to reduce our emissions. It is a journey, this whole sustainable business thing, but we are determined to keep building off our foundational commitments to ethical business practices for the sake of all that is beautiful.

The Old Soul Origins- A Note from the Owner

I was born Sophia, but you can call me Sophie, if you want! My mom introduced me to a love for home-grown vase arrangements I will never forget. For birthdays, hostess gifts, last day of school, "just because", and other random celebrations, my mom would create the most beautiful collection of garden blooms gathered in a recognizable vase she had used dozens if not hundreds of times with different combinations of flowers that went with the seasons.

Although The Old Soul is a one-woman show, I have a talented network of freelancers, including my mother, who have helped create that signature manicured garden look for events, weddings, and daily local deliveries. Building this business has been an absolute joy, and I'm proud to say I am not self-made- my community, family and friends have made me strong enough to continue doing the work I love.
